Acton, CA (June 18, 2024) – One person was killed in a multi-car crash that took place in Acton on Friday, June 14th. The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. on the 14 Freeway, south of Red Rover Mine.
According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Pilot SUV became disabled on the shoulder of the road. A tow truck was at the scene assisting the driver of the Honda, who was standing outside their vehicle with the tow truck driver. At the same time, a Nissan Altima left the Freeway and collided with the Honda, pushing the vehicle into the two pedestrians. The Honda driver was rushed to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. Their identity has not been released at this time. The driver of the Altima, a 17-year-old juvenile male, fled the scene but was later apprehended. There is no word on whether the tow truck driver was injured in the crash. An investigation remains ongoing. No further details are available.
