Santa Ana, CA (June 27, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Santa Ana on Thursday, June 27. The collision happened just before 4:00 a.m. on the Interstate 5 Highway, just north of 17th Street.
According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was found lying in the Number 4 lane of the freeway next to a black sedan on the shoulder of the road. Police believe that the sedan belonged to the victim. The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released at this time. A Nissan Altima that was believed to have struck the victim was found at a nearby business. It is not known if the driver has been located at this time., and there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed in connection with the collision.
